Driving Circularity in Dairy
How Leprino Reduces Its Environmental Impact with CHEP Pallets
Leprino and CHEP, a global supply‑chain logistics company that provides reusable pallet and container pooling services, share a long‑standing partnership rooted in efficiency, innovation and a mutual commitment to building a more sustainable supply chain. The collaboration started in 1994 and has become a powerful example of how two organizations can work together to drive meaningful environmental progress.
Instead of relying on single‑use pallets, CHEP provides a circular system of durable pallets that are repaired, reused and continually recirculated. This approach reduces waste, conserves natural resources, and significantly lowers carbon emissions while supporting the reliability and performance that Leprino requires every day.
Recently, Leprino proudly received its newest CHEP Sustainability Certificate, celebrating the measurable environmental benefits achieved through the partnership over a 12-month period. The certificate highlights impressive gains in three core areas:
- Lower greenhouse gas emissions: 564,869 pounds of CO₂e avoided
- Less waste generated across the supply chain: 22,522 pounds of solid waste reduced
- Reduced consumption of natural resources: 25,087 board‑feet of wood conserved
These achievements, calculated using CHEP’s Life Cycle Assessment, result in a rigorous, science‑based measurement of Leprino’s environmental achievements. These outcomes reflect a shared commitment: Leprino and CHEP working together to reduce their environmental footprint and advance circularity across the dairy supply chain. It’s a partnership worth celebrating and one that continues to deliver a measurable, positive impact.
