Former Leprino President Honored for Advancing Dairy Industry

Mike Durkin Named 2025 IDFA Laureate Award Winner
Mike Durkin, retired Leprino President, was honored with a 2025 International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) Laureate Award in recognition for his efforts to, among other things, drive sustainably efforts across the dairy industry.
As President of Leprino, Durkin set aggressive sustainability goals through the company’s Global Responsibility initiative. He advanced these efforts across the dairy industry through board and leadership participation with IDFA, Global Dairy Platform and the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy.
In addition, Durkin served as an advocate for the dairy industry, testifying before Congress on the Farm Bill.
Upon receiving the award at IDFA’s January Dairy Forum, Durkin remarked, “For decades, the dairy industry has worked tirelessly to drive innovation, develop new products and expand market opportunities. Through the steadfast partnership between the industry, dairy processors and dairy farmers, we’ve delivered nutritious and sustainable dairy foods, fueled economic growth and strengthened communities across the nation. It’s been a true privilege to contribute to this vital work, and I am extremely humbled to be recognized by my peers with this prestigious award.”
Durkin retired as Leprino President in November 2024, leaving an indelible mark on the company and industry. Today, Leprino continues championing sustainability efforts throughout its operations and across the dairy industry.
