GREELEY MOVES THE NEEDLE ON GHG REDUCTION
TEAM EXCEEDS GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSION PROJECT GOAL BY 600%
Leprino Foods set a companywide goal to achieve greenhouse gas (GHG) neutrality by 2050. Thanks in part to recent efforts in our Greeley, Colorado production facility, we are making great progress.
On one specific 2023 project, the Greeley team exceeded the GHG emission reduction goal by more than 600%.
The cross-functional team, comprised of engineering, nutrition production and cheese production employees examined processes to identify opportunities for improvement. They implemented changes by modifying behaviors and streamlining processes, displaying a continuous improvement mindset and ultimately reducing GHGs by 4,101 tons.
“The diversity of thought and idea generation and, even more importantly, the willingness to execute on those ideas, resulted in our team’s success,” said Cody Markley, Greeley’s Senior Supervisor of Continuous Improvement.
In addition, the results delivered a significant cost savings and impressive projected savings of 17.6 million gallons of water.
The team was recently awarded the Leprino Quality Continuous Improvement (LQCI) Global Responsibility Team of the Year honor in recognition of their outstanding efforts.
