GREENHOUSE GAS CHAMPION

Brian Demers, Sr. Manager of Utilities Engineering, was named the 2023 recipient of Leprino Foods’ prestigious Global Responsibility Gina Award for his efforts to help the company achieve its greenhouse gas emissions goals.

Demers managed the design, construction, and installation of a solar field at the company’s largest facility in Lemoore, California—a project three years in the making. The solar field is expected to reduce the plant’s annual greenhouse gas emissions by more than 4,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent every year.

In addition, Demers was instrumental in an energy recovery project in Tracy, California that decreased the plant’s greenhouse gas emissions by more than 3,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year.
